Deck13 and Focus Entertainment today announced that Atlas Fallen, one of 2023‘s more underwhelming releases, is receiving a free major content overhaul in August, one year after it originally launched. The game will be rebranded as Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand, and the update is in response to player feedback from the past year as it aims to revitalize the action-RPG.
“Our team was grateful for the opportunity to further develop Atlas Fallen and to bring a vastly updated version to the players. We listened to the feedback and made a whole series of improvements that we hope will make players enjoy the game even more,” said creative director Jan Klose. The update will include new quests, new enemies to battle, revamped progression, and a reworked campaign, which will be welcome as the game’s campaign was perhaps the most criticized element of Atlas Fallen. New Game+ and a “nightmare” difficulty will also be added.
Atlas Fallen is an action-RPG that can be played solo or with a friend via co-op. In it, players acquire an ancient gauntlet that gives them power over sand, allowing them to traverse the desert in style and battle monsters with force.
Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand will launch on August 6 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
