Our Channel Surfing TV picks of the week are comprised of a good mix of genres from a reality competition to sports comedy to a science fiction thriller. Six celebrities use their intellect and teamwork skills to solve puzzles in Agents of Mystery. Hit the ice on a new season of Shoresy. Then, prepare for more clone drama in Orphan Black: Echoes.
Solving the Unsolvable
We were first introduced to the genre of mystery with both scripted and unscripted aspects by Paolo Chikiamco on episode 19 of the AIPT Television podcast where we discussed Busted!. If you enjoy that type of reality competition, then Agents of Mystery might be for you.
Six celebrities, from different fields including singers and comedians, are brought together as a team of investigators. They must utilize their combined problem solving skills to complete their missions. Though the cases they go on are scripted, the agents’ reactions and approach are not, providing a level of unpredictability.

Keeping the Streak Alive
Letterkenny spinoff, Shoresy, follows the titular character and his exploits on the Sudbury Bulldogs hockey team. While there, he bets the Bulldog’s general manger that the team will never lose again if he is granted complete control.
Season three finds the Bulldogs realizing the new responsibilities that come with success. With their higher profile, there’s no better time to start giving back to the community. In addition, Sudbury is hosting a competition for the national title attracting the best teams in Canada. Will this tougher competition put their winning streak at risk?
The U.S. debut of Shoresy season three is Friday, June 21, on Hulu.
Who Are We?
Orphan Black is a beloved science fiction series that involved various topics such as cloning, sisterhood, and scientific ethics. The show concluded back in 2017 after a five season run. In Orphan Black: Echoes, we return to the same world.
The story takes place thirty seven years after and follows Lucy, a woman with a mysterious past who is searching for her place in the world. She soon crosses paths with others and becomes entangled in their search to discover their identity and origins.
Orphan Black: Echoes premieres Sunday, June 23, on AMC.
