AIPT Television podcast episode 19: The genre bending mysteries ‘Murderville’ and ‘Busted!’

The AIPT Television podcast explores mystery comedies with both scripted and unscripted elements.

We have a very special guest joining us on the latest AIPT Television podcast. Comic writer, Paolo Chikiamco, is probably best known for A Sparrow’s Roar which was published by Boom! Studios. Last October, we spoke about his science fiction anthology series, Mythspace, and how it had the potential to follow in the footsteps of Trese and be a komik with Filipino mythology that could be adapted into an animated series.

Now, Mythspace is eyeing an international release and there is a current Kickstarter campaign run by the creative team and Ablaze Publishing to fund a remastered edition. Paolo talks about the title as well as his career and the Filipino komik scene and community. Also, since this is a television podcast, we compare and contrast two shows, Murderville and Busted!, that cover one of his favorite genres: mysteries with both scripted and unscripted elements.

If Mythspace sounds like a graphic novel you would be interested in, please support the Kickstarter. It has a talented art team consisting of Koi Carreon, C.R. Chua, Borg Sinaban, Jules Gregorio, Paul Quiroga and Mico Dimagiba. You have until April 21, 2022 at 6:13 am PDT to contribute to the campaign.

If you enjoy the AIPT Television podcast, please leave a positive review and subscribe to the show. Find us currently on Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon Music. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter too.
