Spellbound by Robin and Elefluff – A magical organization and puzzle game with a hidden mystery
“I’ve always wanted to write a mystery game, and I’ve always really enjoyed puzzles; when the opportunity to combine both together came up, I jumped at the opportunity. Hanna’s art is gorgeous and expressive, and it’s been wonderful to work with her to make spellbound. I grew up reading Agatha Christie and now I get to make a little mystery myself,” Robin told us.
Voluntary Commitment by Evan Dahm and exodrifter – You’ve been involuntarily committed to a strange facility against your will, and under dubious circumstances. Meet and befriend other interesting characters as you try to stay under the radar of the wardens, and escape the facility for good!
“Voluntary Commitment is a game about being stuck in a hospital due to a bureaucratic nightmare. You meet other patients, try to appease the wardens (or not), and leave after your time is up. I was interested in making this because I wanted to express some personal experiences I had of being forced to stay in a psych ward against my will,” Exodrifter said.
Backerkit also aims to get more Iron Circus graphic novels into readers’ (and gamers’!) hands with multiple tiers that include bundles of their kid-friendly and adult-friendly books. It’s a true gamer and comics lover crossover!
