‘The Official Marvel Podcast’ launches with MCU reveals and more

Kevin Feige dishes on ‘Fantastic Four,’ ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ and more!

The Official Marvel Podcast launched today and it has possibly the biggest Marvel guest of all: Kevin Feige. Hosted by Preeti Chhibber and Langston Belton, the show is pitched as a backstage pass to all things Marvel and it certainly delivered on its first episode.

The first episode runs just over thirty minutes long, and it’s safe to say that Belton and Chhibber have a good report right out of the gate.

Not long after introductions, Feige’s interview starts (around 2:50) conducted by Chhibber, and he makes a good point that Marvel has always had strong fan interaction, and this podcast is an extension of that. Going back to Stan’s Soap Box, interacting with the fans and giving them an inside look has fostered a healthy relationship.

So what are the Feige scoops? I recommend listening to it yourself, but here are a few tasty morsels:

  • Feige confirms Fantastic Four is a period piece
  • Feige pointed out the New York City skyline is definitely different from our own world
  • The first day of filming Fantastic Four is the day after San Diego Comic-Con

Marvel confirms entire Fantastic Four cast in Valentine's Day 2024 reveal ‘The Official Marvel Podcast’ launches with MCU reveals and more

  • The two Avengers films are coming after Fantastic Four
  • Feige said Marvel Studios is playing on Ryan Reynolds’ turf with Deadpool & Wolverine
  • Deadpool & Wolverine will maintain the integrity of Logan
  • Wonder Man is “extremely different” from anything they’ve done before

Following the interview with Feige, Belton interviewed Laura Hathaway, the product development manager at Marvel Games. Their central focus is the Marvel vs. Capcom fighting collection getting a physical release, but they also touch upon Marvel Snap, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and more.

To close out the podcast (at about 23 minutes), Chhibber and Marvel Assistant Editor Michelle Marchese recap the Fantastic Four.

You can listen to The Official Marvel Podcast wherever you get your podcasts.
