It’s no surprise Absolute Batman #1 is a huge hit after selling out twice, with a third printing on the way, but how about the original art by Nick Dragotta? It was revealed by comics art seller Felix Comics Art the entire first issue art was the highest-grossing drop of all time for a modern artist.
How much gross could that be? There are no exact numbers, but Felix Comics Art did confirm that the cover sold for $70,000. Considering that most cover art goes for $5,000 to $10,000, depending on the artist, that’s much more than usual.
