Alien Books is bringing another classic graphic novel from overseas to the American comic market in February with Black Star. The 56-page story was originally released in the late 70s/early 80s in French & Spanish, and has a lot of original Star Wars vibes with a story by Ricardo Barreiro & Juan Giménez (I, Dragon). This is the first time it’s being released in English in the US.
Released in an oversized format (8.5×11 in), the book features a cover from Ariel Olivetti and a variant by interior artist Juan Giménez.
“We’re thrilled to bring another incredible project by Juan Giménez to the American comic book market,” said Alien Books Art Director Martín Casanova. “Giménez is a massive star in Europe and South America and is best known for his breathtaking work on The Metabarons with Alejandro Jodorowsky. We’re honored to once again showcase his work to new readers with BLACK STAR, a classic sci-fi graphic novel that is perfect for fans of old-school Star Wars!”
