This year has a lot to live up to compared to 2023’s best video games, but it’s been strong so far with releases like Princess Peach: Showtime! and Little Kitty, Big City winning over gamers and cat lovers alike.

Let’s check out what video games are hitting storefronts this week.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl (11/20)

Platforms: PC and Xbox Series X/S

After a cancellation, revival, and many delays, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl finally arrives this week, fifteen  years after the last game in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise. It’ll blend first-person shooting with survival and horror elements as you fight violent mutant monsters on your way to scouring valuable loot in Chornobyl. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will feature branching storytelling based on your choices, enticing you to replay it again and again.

G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra (11/21)

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S

After releasing on PC in September, G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra finds its way to consoles this week. The beat ’em up is like a modern-day arcade game, similar to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. It includes a roster featuring your favorite Joes, like Duke, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes, and each character has unique combos and special moves to take down Cobra soldiers. The developers promise more Joes, levels, and game modes will be added over time.

Towers of Aghasba (11/19)

Platforms: PC and PlayStation 5

Towers of Aghasba is a beautiful open world game where you’ll grow ecosystems and build villages. After fleeing their home due to a mysterious force called the Withered, the Shimu people return Aghasba and are relying on you to build their civilization to what it once was. You’ll even have to craft weapons and armor to fend off Withered monsters. Towers of Aghasba will allow you to invite three other players to explore your world together.
