Dragon Ball Sparking Zero fans no longer have to guess when the first DLC pack of characters will land. Bandai Namco released a trailer today showcasing 11 new additions to the roster who will be added next week on January 23.
Four Gohans (base, Super Saiyan 2, Ultimate, Beast) and four Piccolos (base, Potential Unlocked, Orange, Giant Orange) from 2022’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film are joined by the titular Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, with foe Cell Max rounding out the DLC pack. We see Gohan and Piccolo unleash powerful Special Beam Cannons in the trailer while the Gammas’ attacks have their unique sound effects appear during the attacks. Also included are Piccolo’s stealthy Red Ribbon Army costume and three Custom Battles. The official description teases “that’s not all,” so we may be in store for some surprises next week.
What’s notable as well is what’s not included, and how this might signify what to expect in the later two Dragon Ball Daima DLC packs. No new stages were announced, even though the Super Hero movie had very fun and new locales like Piccolo’s house and the Red Ribbon Army base. It also appears like the DLC won’t add any new story battles, instead supplementing them with the Custom Battles.
Dragon Ball Daima will be coming to Sparking Zero in two packs, one this quarter and one next (sometime from April through June). So far we only know Glorio and Vegeta (Mini) will be included. Keep your fingers crossed new stages are added as Daima features locations never before explored in Dragon Ball.
The Hero of Justice pack launches Thursday January 23rd and the early access period begins January 21 at 0:00 CET, meaning those of us in the States will be able to enjoy it on January 20 6PM Eastern/3PM Pacific. Check out the new trailer a few times while you wait and read up on why Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is one of the best games of 2024.
