The Age of Disinformation

Zero Day marks Robert DeNiro’s starring television series role. He plays former president, George Mullen, who is tasked with finding the culprits of a dangerous cyberattack. With so many conspiracy theories and subterfuge in the public eye, it is up to Mullen and his Zero Day Commission to discover the truth.

The series is created and executive produced by Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, and Pulitzer Prize winner Michael S. Schmidt. In addition to DeNiro, the cast includes Angela Bassett, Dan Stevens, Connie Britton, Lizzy Caplan, Matthew Modine, Joan Allen, Jesse Plemons, and Gaby Hoffmann.

Zero Day arrives Thursday, February 20, on Netflix.

King of the Ring

Steven Knight has created a wide variety of shows for TV from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire to See, but he seems to do many period pieces as well. He is the man behind Peaky Blinders and Rogue Heroes. His latest historical drama is A Thousand Blows

The series follows two Jamaican immigrants, Hezekiah and Alec, that arrive in the East End of Victorian England. To earn a living, Hezekiah takes part in the city’s bare-knuckle boxing scene. His rise in the sport attracts the attention of Mary, the leader of a local all female gang looking to exploit the pugilist for her own ambitions. Meanwhile, another boxer, Sugar Goodson, doesn’t like the new kid on the block and wants to take Hezekiah down in the ring.

Begin streaming all of A Thousand Blows this Friday, February 21, on Hulu.

An Extraordinary Journey

North and South America comprise the only super continent that stretches between both poles of our planet. They cover a myriad of environments, and a new nature docuseries takes you through them to show the stories of the different inhabitants.

The Americas is an ambitious project that took 5 years to film on over 180 expeditions. The series is able to capture many world firsts along with new species, intimate moments, and intense hunting scenes. Plus, it’s all narrated by the delightful Tom Hanks.

The series premiere of The Americas airs Sunday, February 23, on NBC.
