Hades II continues to grow with The Warsong Update, out today. It includes a “Final Confrontation” on the surface, adds God of War Ares and his boons, offers a new animal familiar for Melinoë, and updates the game with more than 2,000 voice lines. New music, artwork, and boons have also been added.
“We’re excited to have launched this Major Update, since it includes numerous ideas we’ve been eager to implement since we started working on Hades II years ago!” Supergiant Games wrote in a blog post announcing the update. The developer mentioned it’s planning its next major update for Hades II “some months from now.” Don’t get too hopeful this means a 1.0 release — and console launch — is on the horizon as Supergiant says it’s “still too early” to discuss those plans. The developers note their focus will next turn toward adding more Nocturnal Arms, enhancing boss battles, and building out the story in future updates.
Hades II surprise launched into early access in May 2024 on PC. The Warsong Update follows the game’s first major update, The Olympic Update, from October 2024. Like Supergiant mentioned in the blog post, there’s no set date yet for when Hades II will fully launch, though the game’s FAQ page says the developers “are planning for Early Access development to continue during 2025,” so take that for what you will.
