New Kickstarter Vampires on Mars has launched, and today AIPT can share a preview. The new Kickstarter comic is written by George O’Connor, with art by Fernando Pinto, colors by Ellie Wright, and letters by Justin Birch.
Every issue includes exclusive interviews with astronomer and science writer Phil Plait (The Bad Astronomer, Bill Nye Saves the World), offering insight into the science of Mars missions, the plausibility of vampires in space, and the human sacrifices tied to cosmic ambition.
“Our crew has passed the f-around stage, and they’re about to find out,” said series creator and writer, George O’Connor. “The chaos and blood flow in this issue with Mars and the vampire astronauts’ ultimate goal are finally, tantalizingly within reach. Their humanity and dedication are about to be tested…and not everyone will pass. It’s gonna be fun.”
So what’s Vampires on Mars about?
Billionaire Gary Laurie’s dream of conquering Mars is slipping through his fingers—until Hanna Von Fleischer, a centuries-old vampire with a cosmic obsession, offers a daring solution: turn astronauts into vampires to endure the perils of space travel. With humanity’s limits redefined, chaos and bloodshed follow as the crew’s ultimate goal comes tantalizingly within reach.
Artist Fernando Pinto added, “It’s chapter three. The table’s been set. The plot has thickened. Now the fangs come out. The blood starts to spurt. Friends become enemies. Enemies become even worse enemies. And even more blood will get splattered all over the Milky Way. Get on board. Don’t miss out on the coolest book you’ll probably read this year!”
