As far as exclusives, first up, artist Sarah Myer, artist on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures #24, had the privilege of redesigning Krang and his android body!
“I can’t wait for everyone to read #24 and see the return of the Dark Turtles AND Krang’s new android body upgrades,” Myer told us. “Not only did I have a blast designing the new Krang Android body for this issue and Dark Raphael and Dark Donatello from #20, but this time, you’ll see Leo, Raph, and Don fight against the Dark Turtles instead of just Mikey.”
Check out the new design below.
Myer continued, “What else can you look forward to? Donatello also gets to showcase something he’s been working on since issue #20. Krang’s upgrade makes him an ominous threat to Old Hob and incorporates some old-school mecha anime inspiration in the design which I tried to capture in the cover A for this issue– there’s also a callback to some 2012 Utrom tech and the suit’s wings.”
Taking a closer look at the design, Myer added, “Krang’s new android body design also includes a multi-weapon arm cannon, which was inspired by those multi-color retractable pens, and perhaps MOST importantly…a cup holder and a more ergonomic seat for Krang. Comfort is important. Last but not least, keep your eyes peeled for a vehicular easter egg on the streets of NYC, a very special cat cafe, and the weirdest game of golf I’ve ever seen. :)”
That’s not all, check out art by Dan Schoening from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures #23 below!
Moving on to TMNT: Mutant Nation, Dave Wielgosz, editor of TMNT: Mutant Nation has shared art for issues #5 and #6!
Also, Dave Wielgosz is the writer of the backup story in TMNT: Mutant Nation #6! That issue will feature “Otto the Goose,” a new mutant.
“It’s an honor to get to write another story for the TMNT world,” Wielgosz said. “It’s an even bigger honor to write a TMNT story set in Northampton, Massachusetts, a location significant to the Turtles and to me. This story gave me the opportunity to go back to Northampton over the holidays with my mom, who grew up very close to Northampton and went to school there, and take pictures and feel an even deeper connection to the location.”
“Artist Vitor Cafaggi took that reference and ran with it. He is doing incredible work on this story, and readers are going to be happy to see what Lita has been up to since last we saw her. And what she’s going to learn from a brand new mutant by the name of Otto.”
Check out Otto’s design as well as a preview page that is yet to be colored from TMNT: Mutant Nation #6.
And that’s a wrap on TMNT Tuesday #6. Stay tuned for future editions where your fan questions are answered, more exclusives are revealed, and more!
