Murder is on the menu for our current Channel Surfing TV picks. A woman tries to find the last victim of a serial killer, who happens to be her father, in Happy Face. A mysterious death occurs in one of the most secure places in the world in The Residence. Finally, a man infiltrates his local police force while investigating his twin brother’s disappearance, and soon becomes side tracked solving other cases.
Quality Father/Daughter Time
When a young Melissa G. Moore was only a teenager, she learned that her father was a serial killer. After he was locked away for his crimes, Melissa changed her name and kept the secret of her family’s dark history.
Happy Face takes place when Melissa is an adult who managed to leave her past behind. Unfortunately, her father weasels his way back into her life while incarcerated. He is willing to help authorities find his last victim, but only if his daughter is involved.
The first two episodes of Happy Face release Thursday, March 20, on Paramount+.
An Eventful White House Dinner
In The Residence, someone is murdered during a state dinner at the White House. An eccentric detective is brought in to get to the bottom of the vicious crime. She must question the 157 suspects and sort through the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the home of the president to find the culprit.
The series is created by Paul William Davies, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. It is a Shondaland production with Shonda Rhymes and Betsy Beers also serving as executive producers. It has a star studded cast that includes Uzo Aduba, Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Randall Park, and more.

Stepping into Your Brother’s Shoes
John Taylor lives his life as a recluse. He doesn’t like interacting with people and makes a living publishing puzzles under the pen name Ludwig, which gives the series its name. His twin brother, James, has a different personality and spends his days with the police force working as a detective chief inspector.
One day, James mysteriously disappears and his wife asks John for help. He must assume the identity of his brother to find any clues about James’ whereabouts the police station. John is out of his comfort zone being around people and carrying on the charade. As he gets closer to solving the mystery, he must ensure he doesn’t become too sidetracked helping the police force with their own investigations.
Ludwig arrives Thursday, March 20, on Britbox.
