A Prescription for Laughs

The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy is an intergalactic tale of two doctors who take on the most dangerous cases in the universe. Their success rate has been high enough that their practice begins to gain a good reputation.

In season two, the fame and success brings in added scrutiny. Soon a cyborg journalist begins sticking his nose in the wrong places and digs too deep in one of the doctor’s past. Did we also mention John Waters is a voice on the adult animated series?

The entire second season of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy drops Tuesday, May 27, on Prime Video.

Friends for a New Generation

Adults follows a group of young friends that live together in Queens, New York. Whether it’s the dating scene, joining the work force, or even hosting a classier dinner party, they will stumble through life together making the journey easier to manage and a lot more fun.

The series is created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw and has Nick Kroll, Jonathan Krisel, and Stefani Robinson as producers. It stars Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao, and Owen Thiele.

The two-episode series premiere of Adults airs Wednesday, May 28, on FX.

From Cold (Case) to Hot

Dept. Q is a television adaptation of a Danish Nordic noir crime novel series written by Jussi Adler-Olsen. However, this English language version moves the setting to Edinburgh, Scotland.

It follows Carl Morck, a good cop with the reputation of not playing well with others. After a tragic incident on the job, he is exiled to a single man unit housed in the basement of the station. Though he initially goes it alone investigating cold cases, he gains a team underneath him through circumstance. Together they gain a lead in an old missing person’s case and Morck goes back to what he does best: police work and rattling the cages of his superiors.

The entire first season of Dept. Q releases Thursday, May 29, on Netflix.
