‘Green Lantern Corps’ #6 review

Lots of character movement in this issue as Mogo returns and Sinestro takes a recruit into the field.

The creative corps of Jeremy Adams, Morgan Hampton, Amancay Nahuelpan, and others is back for another installment of Green Lantern Corps. This issue serves as a great reminder of why a second book is needed to explore the vast corps of Green Lanterns; now imagine if they also focused on the other Lanterns of the Emotional Spectrum? This issue will take the Lanterns into outer space for sure, but these writers craft a script that will take you to the inner space of the character, along with some surprising guest stars. Get your Green Lantern lineup and make sure to charge your ring as you get ready for this issue.

Green Lantern Corps #6

DC Comics

The issue begins with Keli and Ellie exploring the emotional fallout from the previous issue. Something is weighing on Keli’s mind, and I’m excited to see where that tension is headed, especially with how Ellie is drawn deeper into the bigger mystery. We then pivot to a new mission split into two parts. First, Sinestro and Vexar’u, a standout from issue #1,  venture to the ruins of Korugar, scavenging parts to rebuild a Yellow Lantern battery. The dynamic between the two is intriguing, with a lingering sense of foreshadowed fate for Vexar’u. And yes, there’s a reunion scene here that fans will get a real kick out of.

The other half of the issue is a quiet standout; Jessica Cruz and Jo Mullein teaming up. Their scenes are emotionally rich, anchored by mutual respect and subtle callbacks. Jessica’s reemerging anxiety is handled with care and authenticity, while Jo’s calm, observant support is an excellent reflection of her law enforcement background. These two Lanterns bring out the best in each other, and their journey to Mogo feels earned and purposeful, not just another space hop, but a mission with emotional weight and history behind it.

Green Lantern Corps #6

DC

This issue continues to prove that Green Lantern Corps is the book where characters truly come alive. The callbacks to past issues and events, such as the Civil Corps, build a cohesive continuity, while showing why each Lantern, whether rookie or veteran, green or other, deserves their spot in the spotlight. It’s a story with heart, history, and momentum, inching us ever closer to the next big clash in the Fractured Spectrum arc, as the threat of the Starbreaker Supremacy looms large.

Green Lantern Corps #6 strikes a strong balance between introspection and cosmic intrigue. The writing team dives into personal dynamics, such as Jessica Cruz’s quiet reemergence of anxiety while building a powerful rapport with Jo Mullein. The issue advances the plot lines involving Sinestro, Vexar’u, and a returning fan-favorite location: Mogo. With callbacks to earlier issues and rich emotional beats, the issue continues to validate why this second Lantern title is essential. It highlights the diverse strengths and voices across the Corps without undercutting any one character. A character-driven sci-fi issue that still keeps the larger Fractured Spectrum saga moving forward to its next chronicle.
