Mad Cave Studios has unveiled TERRORBYTES, a chilling new sci-fi horror anthology set to debut in Fall 2025. Co-written by Eisner, GLAAD, and Ringo Award winner Mark Russell (The Flintstones, Superman: Space Age) and Mad Cave CEO Mark London (Battlecats, Wolvenheart), the series explores the dark side of our hyper-connected world, where technology’s comforts mask its true cost.
TERRORBYTES will feature a rotating lineup of top artists, with each standalone issue examining the unsettling intersection of humanity and technology. Themes like AI ethics, deepfakes, online radicalization, and virtual reality are placed under the microscope, delivering stories that feel both disturbingly close to our present and like warnings from the future.
The first issue introduces a haunting concept: a headset that allows users to relive their happiest memories at the moment of death—though the price for this final experience is far more horrifying than they could imagine.
“There’s never been more horror stories to tell than right now,” said Mark Russell. “Terrorbytes is a way to explore these fears in a speculative sci-fi setting that feels all too plausible. Honestly, writing this series feels like therapy.”
“I’m thrilled to work on this anthology,” added Mark London. “It’s Black Mirror meets classic horror comics, but with a relentless edge. Every issue forces us to confront the nightmare we’re already living in—our overreliance on screens and smart devices. This book will make readers look at their phones differently.”
The series promises art from Juan Doe, Alberto Ponticelli, Val Halvorsen, and Felix Ruiz, each bringing their own haunting style to the anthology.
TERRORBYTES #1 will hit comic shop shelves in Fall 2025. Prepare to log off, or question if you even can.
