Skybound and Image Comics have released an extended look at Good as Dead, a brand-new crime-horror series from Eisner Award winners David & Maria Lapham (Stray Bullets), alongside co-creators Chris Black (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters) and David Alpert.
Set in the seemingly quiet town of Port Lindon, Good as Dead is a chilling thriller about crime, corruption, and secrets that refuse to stay buried. The story begins with a shocking act: a man sets himself ablaze on the Emissary Bridge, a landmark once tied to the town’s prosperity. That horrifying event transforms the bridge into a symbol of inevitable death.
At the heart of the story is Sheriff David Calhoun, who must unravel a web of generations-old secrets while trying to keep his community safe. But the deeper he digs, the more he finds himself racing against death itself.
Each issue of Good as Dead will be an oversized chapter, written by David and Maria Lapham, with art and lettering by David Lapham and colors by Dee Cunniffe (Redneck).
Good as Dead #1 arrives September 17, 2025, at comic shops and on digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play. The debut issue will retail for $7.99.
