‘DC K.O.’ #1 to launch with mystery ‘Lights Out’ polybags packed with rare foil variants

With Darkseid’s power rising and Superman at the heart of the story, every round pushes the DC Universe closer to its breaking point.

DC has revealed new details about its upcoming blockbuster event DC K.O., arriving October 8, 2025, including a special “Lights Out” polybagged foil variant program. Billed as the fight of the century, the series throws DC’s greatest fighters into a no-holds-barred tournament where only one hero can claim the title of King Omega.

Written by Scott Snyder with art by Javi Fernández, DC K.O. #1 kicks off the next chapter of the All In saga, following last year’s DC All In Special #1. To mark the launch, DC will release a “Lights Out” Polybag Special Edition, each containing one randomly packed foil variant cover. The lineup of artists includes Javi Fernández, Jim Lee, Daniel Warren Johnson, Mike Del Mundo, Frank Cho, Jae Lee, Scott Koblish, Ben Oliver, Noobovich, Mark Spears, Dan Mora, and Greg Capullo. Even rarer 1:100, 1:250, 1:500, and 1:1000 chase foils will also be tucked into select polybags.

DC’s biggest heroes enter a death tournament in DC K.O., and only one can be crowned King Omega

Spanning five issues, the event descends through a cosmic gladiator arena tied to the Heart of Apokolips, with each round pushing Earth’s heroes to their breaking point. Superman serves as the emotional center of the story, even as Darkseid’s growing Omega powers loom over the tournament. “You have to be merciless to win,” Snyder teased, while co-architect Joshua Williamson added, “There’s no future for the DC Universe because of what Darkseid has done—the heroes’ only shot is to stop him in the present.”

The main event will be joined by tie-ins across the DC line, including Justice League: The Omega Act #1, Titans #28, Superman #31, The Flash #26, and Justice League Unlimited #12, each expanding the fallout of the battles.

The gloves come off October 8 — and in DC K.O. #1, not every fighter will make it out standing.
