HyperMegaTech! specializes in portable retro gaming. They are the company responsible for Super Pockets, officially licensed handheld devices that can be taken on the go. They are thinking even smaller with their latest products, the Super Micro Keychain Gamer collection.
These are the first products from the company without cartridge capability. Each device from the Super Micro Keychain Gamer collection features a bright 2″ RGB TFT screen (240×320 resolution), a responsive control pad, and a built-in speaker with volume control. HyperMegaTech likes to boast that they are “small enough to carry anywhere, yet big enough to deliver an authentic arcade-style experience.”
Super Micro Keychain Gamer lineup
The launch lineup includes the following four editions from classic video game companies:
- Super Micro Asteroids Edition (#1) – Asteroids®, Gravitar®, and Yars’ Revenge® from the golden age of arcade shooters.
- Super Micro Centipede Edition (#2) – Three Atari classics: Centipede®, Millipede®, and Crystal Castles®.
- Super Micro Space Invaders Edition (#3) – The legendary Space Invaders™, officially licensed from Taito.
- Super Micro BurgerTime Edition (#4) – Data East favourites BurgerTime®, Karate Champ®, and Side Pocket.
The Super Micro Keychain Gamer micro-consoles are priced at £19.99, $24.99, and €24.99 each. They will be available for purchase at Evercade retailers, both online and in stores, this October.
