For Elisa Maza, Goliath’s partner and NYPD detective, December stirs mixed emotions. The season brings snow-dusted streets, glowing lights, and the joy of soaring across the skyline with Goliath. But it also drags up painful memories of a cold case from her early days on the force, one she never managed to solve. When she shares the story with Goliath, an unexpected eavesdropper — the ever-inquisitive Broadway — decides it’s his time to shine.
Armed with his love of detective dramas and a makeshift trench coat, Broadway sets out to solve Elisa’s unsolved mystery. Unfortunately, he’s not alone. Tagging along are the not-so-subtle Bronx and the excitable pup Lance (first introduced in last year’s winter special). Together, this mismatched trio dives into the old case, and what they uncover could change everything for Elisa and the entire clan.

Franchise creator Greg Weisman once again co-writes with longtime editor Nate Cosby, while artist George Kambadais brings the story to life with his signature flair. The 28-page special also features covers by Kambadais, Jae Lee, Roger Langridge, and Alessandro Ranaldi. Expect pulpy detective vibes, holiday chills, and a mystery that even Broadway might not see coming.
