Marvel Comics has unveiled the first preview of PREDATOR: BADLANDS #1, the comic book tie-in to the upcoming film Predator: Badlands. Arriving in shops the same week the movie hits theaters on November 7, the one-shot prelude offers fans their earliest glimpse at the bold new direction of the franchise.
Written by Ethan Sacks (Star Wars: Bounty Hunters) and illustrated by Elvin Ching in his Marvel Comics debut, the story was produced in close collaboration with director Dan Trachtenberg, who also provides a foreword. Today’s reveal includes never-before-seen interior artwork and all three covers for the issue.
The comic introduces Dek, a young Yautja warrior tasked by his father with recovering a piece of technology from a long-forgotten crash site. What seems like a simple mission quickly escalates into a deadly encounter with an ancient threat—laying the groundwork for the events of the upcoming film.
Sacks calls the opportunity “a chance to hunt with the Yautja,” while Trachtenberg adds, “Dek kicking ass in his very own comic book is a dream come true.”
Starring Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, Predator: Badlands premieres in theaters November 7. Fans can preorder PREDATOR: BADLANDS #1 at their local comic shop now.
