Marvel’s Stormbreakers are bringing the chill this December with a new line of Winter Break Variant Covers. Spanning eight special variants across select titles, Marvel’s next generation of superstar artists are dressing iconic heroes in stylish winter gear and sending them off for snowy adventures. Expect to see fan favorites like Hellcat, Mary Jane Watson, Black Panther, and more hitting the slopes and having fun in the frost. The seasonal set lands just in time to coincide with Marvel Winter Break Special #1 — a modern spin on the classic Marvel Swimsuit Special.
This year’s Stormbreakers lineup includes Alessandro Cappuccio (Ultimate Wolverine), Netho Diaz (X-Men), Simone Di Meo (X-Men of Apocalypse), Juan Frigeri (Ultimates), Gurihiru (Jeff the Land Shark), Jonas Scharf (Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion), Geoff Shaw (Red Hulk), and Luciano Vecchio (Uncanny X-Men). Selected for their innovation and rising impact on Marvel’s biggest books, these artists represent the future of visual storytelling.
The Stormbreakers program launched in 2020 as the evolution of Marvel’s Young Guns initiative. Over the last 15 years, that program spotlighted 36 breakout talents who went on to define Marvel’s biggest series and events — a roster that includes Steve McNiven, Jim Cheung, Sara Pichelli, Ryan Stegman, and more.
Marvel has revealed the first seven Winter Break Variants now, with all eight available for preorder at comic shops today.
