Glitch Productions’ Murder Drones has officially made Kickstarter history. The hit animated series-turned-graphic novel project has wrapped its crowdfunding campaign with over $1.5 million raised from more than 17,000 backers, securing its place as one of the top five biggest comic book campaigns of all time on the platform.
The record-breaking campaign, launched by Glitch Productions in partnership with Oni Press, hit its funding goal in under five minutes and went on to become a runaway success. Fans were treated to an array of premium rewards, including limited-edition slipcased hardcovers featuring art by Austin Baechle, Andy Duggan, and Moss Lawton, as well as exclusive variant covers, apparel, and even resin prop replicas. While the campaign has officially ended, late pledges are still open for fans who missed out. Backers can expect fulfillment to begin in November 2026, with the digital editions rolling out alongside the comic shop release starting in February 2026.
Based on Liam Vickers’ acclaimed and twisted animated series, the Murder Drones graphic novel will be written by Wyatt Kennedy (Nights) and illustrated by Jo Mi-Gyeong (Eve, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance). The 136-page hardcover adapts and expands upon the eerie, darkly comedic universe that’s captivated millions of fans online.
Set in a distant future where humanity has vanished and its robotic creations fight to survive on the frozen world of Copper 9, Murder Drones follows a group of “worker drones” trying to rebuild civilization while hunted by vampiric “disassembly drones” — and haunted by the mysterious, godlike entity known as the Absolute Solver.
With Oni Press and Glitch Productions joining forces, Murder Drones: The Official Graphic Novel marks not just a major milestone for the series but also a defining moment for independent animation and comics crossing over in record-breaking fashion.
