Peach Momoko’s stunning take on Psylocke, known as Sai, first introduced in Demon Days: X-Men, is making her long-awaited return this January in the new limited series SAI: Dimensional Rivals.
The five-issue event, both written and illustrated by Momoko, will unite an all-star lineup of artists including Stan Sakai, Esad Ribić, Natacha Bustos, Mike del Mundo, Sara Pichelli, and more. Each will contribute their own artistic vision to the story as Sai travels across the multiverse on a journey to uncover a mysterious set of Infinity Stones.
Sai, the psychic warrior who debuted in 2021’s Demon Days: X-Men #1, quickly became a fan favorite for her blend of mythic samurai storytelling and X-Men roots. The character has since transcended her origins, inspiring the version of Psylocke featured in Marvel Rivals. Now, she’s stepping beyond the Momoko-verse itself in what promises to be one of Marvel’s most visually inventive series yet.
“I’m so happy to return to Sai,” Momoko shared. “For this series, I asked various artists—many of whom I’ve met and become friends with—to reinterpret her in their own styles. Sai will travel between worlds, each shaped by a different artist’s imagination. I think readers will discover something new and exciting about her with every issue.”
Described as a dreamlike, multi-dimensional experience, SAI: Dimensional Rivals will blend art styles and storytelling approaches into a single, interwoven narrative—a love letter to collaboration and creativity across universes.
