Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are about to hit an incredible milestone. This January, Marvel Comics will celebrate AVENGERS #800—officially numbered as AVENGERS #34 in the current run from writer Jed MacKay and artist Farid Karami, with a giant-sized anniversary issue packed with surprises, returning legends, and a universe-shaking showdown years in the making.
The landmark issue marks a critical turning point for MacKay’s acclaimed era, as long-simmering plotlines, including Kang and Myrddin’s battle across space and time and the mysteries of the Impossible City—explode into MYRDDIN’S ENDGAME!
“AVENGERS #800 is a milestone for both the title and our story, as we enter the grand finale of the story we’ve been telling for the last few years,” MacKay said. “It’s been fantastic to be a part of such a big anniversary issue, and to have contributed to the history of the Avengers!”
To celebrate, the issue will feature special backup stories by legendary past creators, uniting generations of Avengers talent for one unforgettable celebration of heroism and history.
And that’s not all — superstar artist Russell Dauterman will deliver a wraparound connecting cover assembling heroes from across the team’s 60-year legacy. The sprawling three-part piece will unfold across AVENGERS #34–36, spanning from January through March.
“I jumped at the chance to draw these covers––I’m honored to be involved with this Marvel milestone!” Dauterman shared. “Editor Wil Moss referenced Jim Lee’s X-Men lineups as inspiration––I ran with that, looking to the 1992 trading cards and the incredible art of George Pérez. I love the Avengers team pieces George did over the years, and was thrilled to do my own.”
Between its monumental story, stacked creative lineup, and historic milestone numbering, AVENGERS #800 is shaping up to be one of the biggest superhero comics of 2025.
