Rob Liefeld’s ‘Youngblood’ returns — and It’s already sold out

The relaunch comes with a massive lineup of variant covers—over 27 retailer exclusives, 30 team-up editions, sleek manga-style black-and-white variants, and a slate of high-ratio incentives designed to ignite collector excitement.

Rob Liefeld’s long-awaited Youngblood revival is already a smash success before it even hits shelves. Youngblood (2025) #1 has completely sold out at the distributor level ahead of its release next week, prompting Image Comics to rush a second printing to meet massive demand. Fans eager to grab a first printing are encouraged to contact their local comic shops immediately before supplies vanish.

The second printing pays tribute to one of the most iconic covers of the ’90s—Liefeld’s New Mutants #98, which introduced Deadpool, Gideon, and Domino. This modern homage swaps in Youngblood’s next-generation heroes—Vandel, Xerxes, and Plsymx—with Die-Hard, Shaft, Vogue, and Badrock stepping into the classic team formation.

“This is a time for gratitude,” Liefeld shared. “Grateful to the fans who’ve roared their enthusiasm, to every retailer who took the leap, and to Image Comics for their support. The road to Youngblood #100 starts here!”

The relaunch comes with a massive lineup of variant covers—over 27 retailer exclusives, 30 team-up editions, sleek manga-style black-and-white variants, and a slate of high-ratio incentives designed to ignite collector excitement.

Originally debuting in 1992 as one of Image’s founding titles, Youngblood #1 became one of the best-selling independent comics ever, topping one million copies sold. Now, with Liefeld once again steering the franchise that helped define the Image Revolution, Youngblood is ready to reclaim its place at the forefront of superhero comics.

Youngblood (2025) #1 arrives in comic shops Wednesday, November 12.
