Marvel is kicking off 2026 with a seismic relaunch: Stephanie Phillips (Phoenix, Planet She-Hulk) and Lee Garbett (Death of Doctor Strange, Uncanny Spider-Man) are officially taking over Daredevil with a brand-new DAREDEVIL #1 — and the Man Without Fear is getting a bold new direction and Marvel’s most unpredictable cover rollout yet.
Launching alongside Marvel’s expanding TRUE BELIEVERS BLIND BAG line, DAREDEVIL #1 will come sealed in mystery bags loaded with random covers — including ultra-rare variants, Blind Bag–exclusive virgin variants, and even one-of-a-kind hand-drawn sketch covers from surprise artists. The program debuts next month with Ultimate Endgame #1, but Daredevil is expected to be the 2026 breakout.
Each Blind Bag includes one copy of DAREDEVIL #1, pulled from a massive lineup featuring art by Garbett, Ryan Stegman, Rose Besch, Gabriele Dell’Otto, Alex Maleev, Joe Quesada, Daniel Warren Johnson, Pablo Villalobos, Dan Panosian, and more — plus Blind Bag-only surprises Marvel is keeping locked down.
But the shake-ups don’t stop at the covers. Phillips and Garbett are positioning Matt Murdock for a reinvention that honors the character’s noir roots while taking him into uncharted territory. Matt is heading back to school — literally — as he becomes a law professor, just as a sinister new villain named Omen surfaces with a terrifying vendetta against Daredevil.
Marvel promises buried secrets, rising ghosts, and a new status quo unlike anything Matt has faced.
“I’m taking on one of my favorite characters with one of my favorite artists,” Phillips said. “We’re leaning into Daredevil’s noir sensibilities, and Lee brings incredible style and emotion to every page.”
Garbett echoed her excitement:
“Steph has nailed the heart and tone of Daredevil’s world. It’s classic DD at its core — but with huge surprises and fresh ideas.”

More cover reveals — including Blind Bag exclusives — will roll out in the coming weeks. Preorders for DAREDEVIL #1 are open now at local comic shops.
