Paul Chadwick’s award-winning creation Concrete returns this June with Concrete: Stars Over Sand, a five-issue saga steeped in amnesia, isolation, and mounting dread. Launching in June 2026, the series marks the first new Concrete story since 2012.
“A decade’s work, more or less,” Chadwick said of the project. “The covers are wraparound oil paintings. It’s set in places I’ve camped and sketched. I’ve lived, briefly, Concrete’s affliction. I put everything I know about suspense into this.”
In Concrete: Stars Over Sand #1:
Concrete disappears into the desert. Larry and Maureen scramble for answers. Word spreads that he has been seen in the surrounding mountains, bloodied and lashing out at anyone who approaches. Struck by lightning and stripped of memory, Concrete wanders through a landscape that feels alien and hostile. Thunder shakes the sky. A mysterious sphere rises overhead. Encased in stone, hunted and afraid, he begins to see humanity itself as a threat.
What follows is a race against time as his friends search for him while he struggles to reclaim his identity in a world that feels both unfamiliar and dangerous.
Concrete: Stars Over Sand #1 arrives in comic shops June 17, 2026, for $4.99.
