It has been 20 years since Marvel Comics launched Civil War, the landmark event that forced the superhero community to choose sides and posed the unforgettable question, “Whose side are you on?” This May, Marvel is celebrating the anniversary of that historic storyline with Civil War: Unmasked, and a new line of Civil War Celebration Variant Covers.
Created by some of today’s leading artists, the cover series highlights dramatic face-offs between heroes aligned with opposing sides of the conflict that divided the Marvel Universe. Some covers revisit iconic clashes from the original storyline, including Captain America vs. Spider-Man and Hercules battling the infamous Thor clone. Others imagine new matchups that were never shown before, such as Storm vs. Ms. Marvel and Cyclops vs. Wonder Man. These Civil War Celebration variants will appear across several major Marvel titles and will feature the recognizable Civil War branding that defined the original event.
Marvel has also released all ten covers ahead of time, and fans can preorder them now through their local comic shop. Check out those covers and release dates below!
