Hard Case Crime’s fan-favorite assassin returns this summer, and AIPT has the exclusive reveal of a brand-new cover for Gun Honey: Doubles Down, illustrated by legendary comics artist Adam Hughes.
Arriving in stores in June 2026, Gun Honey: Doubles Down marks the return of award-winning writer and Hard Case Crime co-founder Charles Ardai, who continues the globe-trotting adventures of master weapons expert Joanna Tan. The new miniseries also reunites Ardai with returning series artist Ang Hor Kheng, whose explosive and stylish artwork has helped define the Gun Honey universe.
The newly revealed Adam Hughes cover captures the sleek danger and noir attitude that has made Joanna Tan one of the most compelling modern crime protagonists in comics. Hughes, widely celebrated for his iconic cover work across decades of comics history, brings his signature blend of elegance, tension, and character-driven storytelling to the series.
In Gun Honey: Doubles Down, Joanna Tan is pulled into one of her most dangerous missions yet. After a botched assassination attempt on the dictator of Russia, three identical-looking men flee Moscow, scattering across Siberia, Finland, and the Black Sea.
With the world watching and powerful forces pulling strings behind the scenes, Joanna is offered $10 million to track them down, determine which of the three is the real target, and ensure that the right man dies.
The result promises an action-packed international thriller filled with deception, high-stakes espionage, and the razor-sharp tension fans have come to expect from the Hard Case Crime line.
Gun Honey: Doubles Down arrives in comic shops in June 2026.
