This June, Avengers: Armageddon will reshape Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for a new era, but first, Doctor Doom will return in a new story arc kicking off in Captain America #12!
Out in June, Captain America accompanies the newly formed S.H.I.E.L.D. into Latveria to maintain order while Doctor Doom remains absent. That fragile stability quickly collapses when Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, also known as Red Hulk, begins a campaign of revenge against Latveria. His actions trigger devastating consequences for both Captain America and the world.
As the crisis escalates in Avengers: Armageddon, the world rallies together along with a newly assembled team of Avengers to stop Red Hulk. Meanwhile, Captain America finds himself drawn into a conflict he never expected. Victor Von Doom, who has not been seen since his downfall in last year’s One World Under Doom, returns with a bold plan that requires Steve Rogers’ help.
“I love writing Doom,” Zdarsky said. “After my first arc with him and Cap, I knew I wanted them to meet again. Their dynamic is incredibly fun, and this encounter will change both characters for a long time.”
After S.H.I.E.L.D.’s campaign in Latveria meets a brutal and violent end, Captain America finds himself in the last place he expected to be, alongside the last person he expected to see again. Where has Victor Von Doom been since One World Under Doom, and what does he want with Steve Rogers? Find out here as everything hurtles toward ARMAGEDDON!
