Dark Horse Comics has announced Witness Point, a four-issue series from actor Nathan Fillion and writer Heath Corson, with art by Soo Lee. The project blends crime and noir with a Midwestern setting, and the first issue arrives in July 2026, featuring covers by Lee and Shawn Martinbrough with Chris Sotomayor.
The story takes place in Baraboo, Wisconsin, a small town known for its charm, local traditions, and ties to the Ding-A-Ling Circus. Beneath that friendly surface lies a disturbing truth. The discovery of a mutilated U.S. Marshal in the town square exposes Baraboo as a relocation hub for the Witness Protection Program. For decades, criminals who turned informant have quietly been sent there, creating a community built on hidden pasts.
As fear spreads through the town, Sheriff Carter “Kite” Calhoon is forced to work with Deputy Marshal Priya Khabrani to investigate the murder. With the Harvest Festival approaching, tensions rise and suspicion grows as residents begin to question who they are really living among.
Fillion said he was immediately drawn to the story and saw its potential as a comic, praising Soo Lee’s artwork and the creative team behind the project. Corson highlighted Fillion’s storytelling instincts and how they shaped the series, while Lee explained that the unique setting and characters inspired a visual style meant to reflect the story’s offbeat tone.
Witness Point #1 will be released on July 8, 2026, and is currently available for preorder at comic shops for $4.99.
