This week things get a little funny and then turn dry on Top Chef. There is still more cash to be won and another opportunity to earn the highly sought after immunity. But we also had to say good bye to another contestant.
For the quickfire, the chefs ability to improvise was put to the test. Comedian and actor Fortune Feimster served as the guest judge, and she brought a few friends to come up with some keywords to help guide the challenge. In the end, the competitors had to create a dish that featured Christmas, Colorado, and puffified. To add an additional wrinkle in the plan, midway through they had to incorporate corn nuts as well.
The elimination challenge slowed things down. Top Chef tasked the chefs to create an elevated dish showcasing dehydrated components. The dehydration process is obviously time consuming so the chefs spent their down time at the North Carolina White Water Center, one of the largest in the region.
The eliminated contestant headed off to Last Chance Kitchen. There, they battled it out in a she-crab soup challenge. The catch was to put their own spin on the ingredients into a dish, but not as a soup.
Here are where everyone stands after week 5.

New episodes of Top Chef release Mondays on Bravo.
