Marvel Comics is continuing its 20th anniversary celebration of Civil War with Civil War: Unmasked #2, and AIPT has an exclusive first look at three pages from the upcoming issue.
Written by Christos Gage with art by Edgar Salazar, the second issue shifts focus to one of the most pivotal moments in Marvel history: Peter Parker’s decision to reveal his identity to the world. As Spider-Man weighs the risks, he turns to the people closest to him, including Aunt May, Mary Jane Watson, and Tony Stark, before making a choice that will change everything.
The preview pages highlight the emotional and physical stakes of that moment. Readers will see Peter and Mary Jane in a quiet, intimate moment, Spider-Man unmasking, and the Iron Spider armor in action as the Civil War conflict escalates around him.
If issue #1 is any indication, this series is aiming to deepen the emotional core of the original event. As I noted in my review, “Christos Gage threads the needle well, expanding on Tony Stark’s mindset without disrupting established continuity,” offering a story that adds meaningful context to a defining Marvel storyline.
Civil War: Unmasked #2 continues that mission, this time zeroing in on Peter Parker’s most controversial decision, and the fallout that follows almost immediately.
Civil War: Unmasked #2 goes on sale June 10, 2026.
