‘Terminal’ #1 unleashes wild variant covers from Frank Miller, Rob Liefeld, and more

With a powerhouse creative team and a premise centered on a brutal and unpredictable superhuman conflict, Terminal is shaping up to be one of the biggest launches of the year.

Skybound and Image Comics have unveiled a stacked lineup of new variant covers for Terminal #1, featuring artwork from legendary creators like Frank Miller, Bill Sienkiewicz, and Rob Liefeld, alongside series artists Andy Kubert, David Finch, and Arthur Adams.

The oversized debut issue will include 32 pages of story, kicking off a major new series from writers Robert Kirkman and Joe Casey, with art by Kubert, colors by Dave McCaig, and letters by Rus Wooton. Terminal #1 is set to hit comic shops on July 22, 2026.

At the heart of the story is a hidden war playing out across the globe, fought by two superpowered factions whose actions blur the line between heroes and villains. When Marilyn Howe begins searching for her missing sister Alessandra, she’s pulled into the middle of that conflict and discovers that saving the world may require unlocking her genetic potential and sacrificing everything she thought she understood about herself, if she can survive it.

“It doesn’t matter which cover you choose, they’re all drawn by legends!” said Alex Antone, Editorial Director at Skybound. “Are you an Adams? Are you a Finch? Are you a flippin’ Frank Miller? There’s something for everyone – might as well grab ‘em all!”

The full cover lineup is extensive, including two standard covers by Andy Kubert, a cover by David Finch and Dave McCaig, and another by Arthur Adams and McCaig. There are also several incentive variants, including a 1:25 by Bill Sienkiewicz, a 1:50 by Rob Liefeld and Jay Ramos, and a 1:100 foil by Frank Miller and Alex Sinclair. Higher-tier options include a 1:1000 CGC signed and graded wraparound foil, a 1:2500 original sketch by Kubert, plus a blank sketch cover and striking Chromium versions of Kubert and McCaig’s designs.

The issue will also include a blind bag program, giving fans a chance to pick up a range of covers at different rarity levels. In addition, four mystery items will be included, offering a first look at the world of Terminal in a way that leans into Robert Kirkman’s signature style and pushes the concept further than typical blind bag releases.
