Vault Comics has announced exclusively via AIPT series Money Shot: The F Offs*, a storyline spinning out of the long-running sci-fi comedy series Money Shot. The issue reunites creator Tim Seeley with actor, comedian, and writer Patton Oswalt, alongside artist Garth Graham, colorist Maksim Strelkov, letterer Crank!, and designer Tim Daniel.
The new storyline throws the series into full crossover-event chaos, drawing inspiration from classic comic events and over-the-top competition stories. In the setup, a mysterious cosmic force gathers champions from across the galaxy to compete in “The F* Offs,” a bizarre interstellar contest where survival, evolution, and sex all collide in spectacular fashion.
“We’ve been doing Money Shot for 7 years (!), and of course, in that time, we’ve met a whole lot of sexy, weird characters, all of whom we wanted to see again, potentially naked,” said Seeley. “THE F* OFFS is a crossover event contained to one series, dropping our cast right into the middle of a secret war where they’ll have to compete to save all life and evolution with the main tool that ensures those things exist: Sex!”
Oswalt leaned into the outrageous tone of the series while discussing his return. “Things have been growing toward a hot, sticky climax, and I was proud to lend a firm hand to bring things to an explosive conclusion,” said Oswalt. “I always go all the way to the hilt when I’m deep into something, and I’m not afraid of getting messy. I also did some writing on the latest issues of Money Shot.”
Graham also teased the escalating competition awaiting the series’ cast. “The XXX-plorers are true to their name: first among humanity to explore the cosmos and sleep with anything sentient they find,” added Graham. “But just because they’re the first, does that make them the best? The F* Offs put our intrepid Scientist Cum Explorers to the test to see if they measure up against a wild universe of even wilder aliens. All of whom seek to be number one and survive to earn the title of The Fittest.”
Money Shot: The F Offs* #1 arrives in comic shops this August and will feature variant covers by artists including Zulema Scotto, Flaviano, Corin Howell, Suspiria, and more.
