Overwatch League team NYXL releases coach WizardHyeong

NYXL makes big changes to their coaching ahead of the second season of Overwatch League.

Overwatch League team New York Excelsior has announced the release of team coach Kim “WizardHyeong” Hyeong-seok.

The announcement came this morning from the team’s official Twitter account.

The tweet reads, “Today we say goodbye to coach . We could not be more thankful for all his hard work and leadership throughout the team’s inaugural season. This was a mutual decision and simply put, you will be missed!”

Kim released a statement on Twitter shortly after NYXL broke the news, “Good bye . I really appreciate the management and the players. Planning to do lots of streams and content creation.

– LFT if you need a typical genius.”

His Tweet was met with many kind responses of thanks, appreciation and support from fans.

The New York Excelsior finished the inaugural Overwatch League season atop the standings with a record of 34 wins and 6 loses. Yet despite their impressive performance during the regular season, they were unable to make the Grand Finals.

At this time no other changes have been made to NYXL’s roster.
