It’s Spidey versus Hammerhead in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Turf Wars DLC

The second chapter of DLC for Insomniac’s best-selling Spidery adventure also boasts three new suits, challenges, and more.

Insomniac Games has released a new trailer and story details of the next chapter of DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man as well a look at the three Spidey suits included.

Picking up right where The Heist left off, Turf Wars sees Spider-Man take on the classic villain Hammerhead, who has reignited a deadly mob-war in the void left behind by both Wilson Fisk and the Demons following the events of the base game’s plot. Unlike in the first chapter of DLC, Captain Yuri Watanabe seems to lay a vital role in Spider-Man’s crusade to stop the deadly turf war waging across New York City.

Alongside the new story missions, Turf Wars is loaded with new challenges, bases, crimes, trophies, and suits for players to experience. Players can unlock the Spider-Man MK 1 suit and Spider-Clan suit from the Marvel Magnaverse in addition to the original Iron-Spider suit made famous in Amazing Spider-Man #529.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Turf Wars releases on Tuesday, November 20 for the Playstation 4. Players who haven’t already purchased The City That Never Sleeps DLC bundle can download the new chapter for $9.99. Player’s can still buy The City That Never Sleeps bundle for $24.99 which boasts all three chapters of the DLC including the forthcoming second chapter and the final chapter, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Silver Lining.

My take? I was quite smitten with The Heist even if it introduced some annoying new enemies and still forced players into another Mary Jane mission. I am looking forward to another chapter in the PS4 Spidey-verse and more interactions between Watanabe and Spider-Man, which made for some of the more comedic moments of the initial game (is Spider-Cop going to make an appearance? I hope so!). Really, I just hope this DLC offering keeps the player in control of Spider-Man, not a non-powered secondary character.
