Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order to be revealed at Star Wars Celebration

Respawn Entertainment will officially unveil their highly anticipated Star Wars project, Jedi: Fallen Order, at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago on April 13 according to the EA Star Wars Twitter account.

Did you hear? #StarWarsJediFallenOrder will be at #StarWarsCelebration Chicago! See the game for the first time on April 13th.

Plus, hear from @MattLanter about his work on #StarWarsBattlefrontII. https://t.co/vE0oPnYDSZ— EA Star Wars (@EAStarWars) February 27, 2019

The game was initially announced in 2016 without a title or release window and almost nothing has been shown from the game since. Respawn eventually unveiled the title at E3 2018, and later revealed the game would take place during the Jedi purge following the execution of Order 66.

Other than the title and setting, all that is known is the game will be a third person action adventure title, likely centered around a Jedi avoiding persecution from the Sith Empire. This is the only Star Wars game that is currently being developed, following the sudden cancellation of EA Vancouver’s untitled open world game and the closure of Visceral Games-who were developing a third person action/adventure Star Wars title in the vein of Uncharted.

As we’ve discussed on the Star Wars in Poor Taste podcast, 2019 is a huge year for Star Wars fans. In addition to ongoing comics and recently announced books, 2019 sees the release of Jedi: Fallen Order, The Mandalorian on Disney +, and the conclusion to the Skywalker saga with Star Wars Episode IX. While a specific release date has not been announced, EA has confirmed Jedi: Fallen Order will drop sometime in holiday 2019.

Are you excited for Jedi: Fallen Order? Are there any Star Wars games you are hoping will be announced? Sound off in the comments below and let us know!
