New Avengers: Endgame trailer, a new team member helps prepares for the final battle

The journey is coming to an end, but the Avengers won’t be fighting alone.

Get ready to experience some goosebumps. Marvel surprised fans this morning with a new trailer for the upcoming epic conclusion to the MCU’s mightiest heroes, Avengers: Endgame. All hope isn’t lost just yet, there’s a new addition to the team that could turn the tide against the mad titan Thanos. Check it out below!

The trailer beings with a black and white flashback at the birth of the MCU, where Tony Stark fought his way out of a desert cave and transformed into Iron Man. Captain America follows, remembering his days as a skinny soldier. Follow by Thor remembering his life in Asgard when his father was still guiding and protecting him. All of the black and white footage has items of importance highlighted in red, and you get the feeling that each hero is thinking back on all they’ve lost and fought for, as motivation for the coming battle against Thanos.

At the halfway point of the trailer the footage shifts to present day in which we get a look at Hawkeye and Black Widow reuniting in the rainy streets — a clip we saw previously, but this one expands to a flashback of Clint teaching his daughter how to shoot a bow, and it’s very clear that she didn’t survive Thanos’ snap. Clint and Natasha are leaning heavily on one another to survive what they’ve each lost.

Nebula, Ant Man, Rocket, and War Machine are here to fight as well. During one particularly badass sequence we see them walking alongside the other Avengers through a hangar in new snazzy outfits that many fans theorize are going to allow them access to the Quantum Realm.

Last, but certainly not least, is the newest member of the Avengers — Captain Marvel. We all knew she was coming after the ending events of Avengers: Infinity War, in which Nick Fury activated a device with Captain Marvel’s symbol on it right as he was falling victim to Thanos’ attack.

For those of you who haven’t seen Captain Marvel in theaters yet, go see it. Not only will you enjoy a fantastic film, but you’ll gain a better understanding of why her appearance in the trailer was a forgone conclusion.

The half-Kree warrior makes a brief appearance at the end of the trailer, squaring off with Thor, the only Avenger to be on par with her level of power. He declares “I like this one,” with a smile and a laugh.

Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26. Tickets are not available for purchase at this time.
