KENTA on his time in WWE: “No good memories come to mind”

The Pro Wrestling NOAH legend said he felt ‘defanged’ on WWE’s 205 Live brand.

KENTA was recently interviewed by Weekly Pro Wrestling magazine over in Japan, where he talked about his time in WWE, his decision to leave the company, and the newest chapter in his career: New Japan Pro Wrestling.

When asked about his time on 205 Live, KENTA said “no good memories come to mind.” He went on to add that he felt “defanged” on the fledgling brand.

The Pro Wrestling NOAH legend joined WWE’s 205 Live brand in November 2017. He remained there until January 2019, when he asked for his release from WWE and was granted it. While KENTA joined WWE to great fanfare, multiple injuries kept him from truly living up to his potential. And by the time he was healthy, the roster had greatly inflated in size and variety.

He went on to talk about his former home in Japan, Pro Wrestling NOAH, which he spoke fondly of, but he said he wanted to succeed at the “international leveL” and NJPW is the place to do it.
