New Star Wars photo shows The Mandalorian fighting with Trandoshans

A familiar species will appear in The Mandalorian.

Disney has revealed another never before seen look at their upcoming live-action series from a galaxy far, far away — Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

At the D23 Expo fans got a look at the official poster and first trailer for The Mandalorian, today they get a look at a brand new photograph, first shared by EW.com. Check it out below.

In the photo we see The Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal, fighting a pair of Trandoshans. The bounty hunter Bossk is easily the most famous Trandoshan in the history of the Star Wars franchise. He first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back as one of the six bounty hunters Darth Vader hired to hunt down the Millennium Falcon and capture Han Solo, and also gained fame for working with fellow bounty hunters Boba Fett and Aurra Sing during the Clone Wars. Trandoshan’s are renowned as some of the best hunters in the galaxy and have a particular love for hunting Wookies and selling them into slavery.

The Mandalorian stars Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal in the lead role as a lone gun toting bounty hunter on the edge of galaxy in the period following the fall of the Empire in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and before the rise of the First Order in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Far from the authority of the New Republic, The Mandalorian hunts bounties, engages in starfighter battles, and fights alongside assassin droids.

The series was created and written by director Jon Favreau, who is also in the role of executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson.

The Mandalorian will be available at launch of Disney’s highly anticipated upcoming streaming service, Disney+, on November 12. The service will be available at a base cost of $6.99 a month or can be purchased as a bundle with Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month.
