Overwatch coming to the Nintendo Switch next month

Overwatch comes to the last big three console.

A little over a week ago a posting for an officially licensed Overwatch-themed Nintendo Switch carrying case was briefly up on Amazon before being hastily removed once the internet at-large took notice. This more or less confirmed that Blizzard would at some point be bringing their wildly popular FPS to the Switch.

Most people assumed that the announcement would be made at Blizzard’s upcoming yearly convention, BlizzCon. But now a report out of Kotaku claims that it was in fact Nintendo who would be making the announcement, at tonight’s Nintendo Direct presentation.

Kotaku’s Jason Schreier claims the leak comes from two confirmed retail sources and points at a European retail release on October 18 and a North American release on October 15.

Overwatch was originally released for Windows PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. With over 40 million players worldwide, Nintendo would be crazy not to want Blizzard’s wildly successful FPS on their console.
