Overwatch servers go down after DDoS attack

You may have some trouble logging into Overwatch right now.

Overwatch servers are just returning online after an apparent DDoS attack brought them to a halt. While servers appear to be back up and running now, they don’t seem to be functioning normally in some games. Players are seeing empty teams, teams with up to 12 players, and other oddities.

Blizzard issued a statement on the state of the server:

Players are experiencing high latency and disconnections as a result of DDoS attacks towards certain internet service providers. We are currently monitoring this situation and will provide updates as they become available.

The denial-of-service attack appears to have been directed at ISPs rather than Blizzard itself.
