The Outer Worlds releasing on Nintendo Switch on June 5

Better late than never after a COVID-19 delay.

Tuesday morning Obsidian Entertainment announced that their hugely popular space based RPG The Outer Worlds will be released for the Nintendo Switch on June 5th, 2020. The game was originally schedule to be released on the Switch back in March, but the ongoing global pandemic caused the closure of port developer Virtuous Games’ offices, which are located in Singapore and China.

Switch players can purchase the game in both physical and digital format. Though it’s important to be aware that Obsidian has stated the physical version of the game will require a day one patch to help optimize gameplay, fix bugs, and add hi-res textures. The patch isn’t finalized but could be up to 6GB in size, so plan ahead accordingly and ensure you have the required free-space available on your Switch.

Both versions of the game will cost $59.99.

The Outer Worlds was originally released to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 25, 2019. The game had a ton of hype surrounding it and thankfully managed to live up to it. Be sure to read our review of the PS4 version if you’re new to the game and are curious as to what you should expect.
