For the second time this year, Paramount Pictures has pushed back the release dates for A Quiet Place Part II and Top Gun: Maverick. Unlike the first delay, however, this one pushes both films into 2021.
- A Quiet Place Part II moves from September 4, 2020 to April 23, 2021
- Top Gun: Maverick moves from December 23, 2020 to July 1, 2021

In a statement to media outlets yesterday, Paramount’s Chris Aronson (President of Domestic Distribution) and Mark Viane (President of International Theater Distribution) expressed the studio’s desire to release the films when it was safe to do so in theaters.
While I’d jump at the chance to see either one of these movies in a VOD format, I’m sure their distribution partners appreciate Paramount’s commitment to releasing them on the big screen first.
