Marvel Studios reveals new Phase 4 films, footage, and release dates

A return to movie theaters also means the return of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen.

Yesterday, Marvel Studios released a featurette celebrating the return of movie theaters as the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States begins to subside. In addition to being narrated by the late Stan Lee, it also features some new information and footage about their upcoming Phase 4 films.

Much of this was already announced during Disney’s Investor Day event last year, but there was still plenty of new stuff (and new/adjusted release dates) along with a few surprises.

Here’s what was shown/revealed following the Stan Lee narrated montage of Marvel Studios’ history to this point, which included a great theater reaction segment from Avengers: Endgame that has me all types of excited to get my vaccinated self into a theater again.

Marvel Studios Phase 4

  • We finally have a confirmed title for the next Black Panther movie! Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release in theaters July 8, 2022.
  • Instead of a straight up sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, The Marvels title card utilizes the logos of both Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. It should be interesting to see how the upcoming Ms. Marvel series crosses over into Carol’s world when The Marvels is released in theaters on November 11, 2022.

The featurette concluded with Shang-Chi kicking some ass followed by the same Fantastic Four logo tease we saw back in December. Unfortunately, it was not accompanied by any release date or casting news for Marvel’s First Family.
