Image Comics has revealed a variant cover coming for PhenomX #1, the new series from co-writer John Leguizamo who also happens to be the film and Broadway star. Announced back in August, the new series is set to release on November 10th with writing by Leguizamo, Aram Rappaport, and Joe Miciak with art by Chris Batista.

For every 250 PhenomX #1 issues ordered, retailers will become eligible to order five incentive covers of PhenomX #1 by Muñiz and one John Leguizamo hand-signed PhenomX #1 McFarlane artwork incentive cover.

PORTLAND, Ore. 10/13/2021 — John Leguizamo, Image Comics, and Todd McFarlane Productions are excited to announce two exciting incentive variants for PhenomX #1.

Film and Broadway star Leguizamo debuts his highly anticipated comic PhenomX this November. Leguizamo delivered a memorable performance as Spawn’s arch-enemy, The Clown.

Leguizamo himself, will hand-sign each 1:250 copy incentive variant of PhenomX #1 which will feature cover art by legendary artist Todd McFarlane.

Additionally, a PhenomX #1 1:10 copy incentive black and white version of cover A by Jim Muñiz will be available.

For every 250 PhenomX #1 issues ordered, retailers will become eligible to order five incentive covers of PhenomX #1 by Muñiz and one John Leguizamo hand signed PhenomX #1 McFarlane artwork incentive cover.

A multiple Emmy and Tony award winning actor and a Golden Globe and Critics Choice nominee, Leguizamo is considered the most prolific modern playwright on Broadway with six successful shows. He made history with the highest-grossing solo play in Los Angeles, and his storytelling has garnered critical acclaim and been celebrated by audiences.

The first issue is an extra-length comic featuring cover art by Spawn creator Todd McFarlane. PhenomX centers around the character, Max Gomez, who was wrongfully imprisoned and is desperate to regain his freedom, and Max agrees to become a subject in an underground government experiment. When the trial gives him phenomenal shape-shifting abilities, Gomez learns his new “freedom” requires surviving a superpowered war fought on the streets of New York City.

The all-Latino creative team launching the series includes writers, Leguizamo, Aram Rappaport, Joe Miciak, Damian Slattery, artist Chris Batista, cover artists Jim Muñiz, José Marzán, Jr., and Juan Fernández, inker Sabrina Cintron, colorist Chris Sotomayor and editor and creative director, Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez.

PhenomX #1 will be available at  comic book shops  and digital platforms—including Amazon, Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play—on Wednesday, November 10 (SRP $6.99).

ABOUT JOHN LEGUIZAMO
John Leguizamo is an actor, director, producer, playwright, screenwriter, author & comedian. He rose to fame with a co-starring role in Super Mario Bros. (1993) as Luigi. He notably appeared in the films To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, for which he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor. He has also appeared in Spawn, Moulin Rouge!, Summer of Sam, Chef, John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, The Happening, and Romeo + Juliet. He has provided voice-work for Sid the Sloth in the animated commercially successful hit film Ice Age film series (2002–2016). He had a recurring role on ER and was a series regular on The Kill Point. He is also known for his role as Ozzy Delvecchio on Bloodline. He has appeared in over 75 films, produced over 10 films, directed 1 & has starred on Broadway in several productions (winning several awards, including a Tony Award). He has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards, winning one in 1999 for his performance in Freak.
