Channel Surfing: Awesome TV picks for the week of 11/22/2021

All our Channel Surfing TV picks this week have ties to comics.

After stuffing yourself this Thanksgiving, you can sit back and catch our Channel Surfing TV picks while you fight off that food coma. Masters of the Universe: Revelation returns for its second part. The MCU’s most skillful archer gets his own miniseries in Hawkeye. Then a group of super-powered villains come together to pull off a heist in Super Crooks.

By the Power of Grayskull!

Last summer, Kevin Smith brought fans back to the world of Eternia in the animated series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Our very own Nathan Simmons thought it was a powerful new take on a nostalgic fave. However, the five episodes we received were only the first part and it left us on a big cliffhanger.

Can our heroes stop Skeletor after he’s obtained the power he was seeking? This week, we’ll find out what happens next when part two comes out. Also don’t miss out on our feature that addresses many of the criticisms from the first part.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation part two can be streamed beginning Tuesday, November 23 on Netflix.

A Gift that Comes with a Bow

Many of the Marvel Disney+ series have given the spotlight to MCU characters that never anchored their own films. So far, we’ve received closer looks at Wanda and Vision, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki. Just in time for the holidays, we’ll get to know Hawkeye a little bit more.

The story takes place in a post-blip New York where Clint Barton is trying to get home to his family by Christmas. However, a threat from his past shows up and he is forced to team with a young archer and super fan who goes by Kate Bishop. Together they try to get to the bottom of a criminal conspiracy.

The first two episodes of Hawkeye will be released on Wednesday, November 24, on Disney+.

Super-Villain on Super-Villain Crime

Back in 2017, Netflix acquired Millarworld from comic creator, Mark Millar. He would continue to publish comics under them while also having the streamer adapt his works for exclusive content. The first show released during the collaboration was Jupiter’s Legacy and now, the next series is almost here.

Super Crooks is based off of the comic of the same name, which was illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu. It will serve as a prequel to the original and will overlap with it near the end of the season. A small-time hustler named Johnny Bolt recruits various powered supervillains for a very lucrative heist. It could very well be their last either by the sheer size of the score or because their target is a feared crime boss with abilities of his own.

Binge the entire first season of Super Crooks this Thursday, November 25, on Netflix.
